Running on hype alone - no fancy launch ceremony or anything - the release of the much awaited Apple iPad 2 in Malaysia was pretty overwhelming with thousands of eager consumers lined up since last night to obtain the spanking new tablet. As shown in the video above, there was a long queue at Machines in Mid Valley Megamall with around 200 to 300 people just before the sale kicked off at 10:00am. The iPad 2 frenzy also went beyond the limits of Klang Valley as there were quite significant number of crowd waiting at authorized Apple resellers in cities such as Johor Bharu, Penang, iPoh Ipoh and Kuching. Within an hour, Apple dealers begun to ran out of iPad 2 which obviously forced some customers to go home empty handed. As expected, most of the outlets have provided a waiting list to keep track of customers that were not able to get their hand of the tablet today.
